Sherman – a Tony, Emmy and Peabody-award winning and Oscar-nominated filmmaker – who shared techniques on shooting a film on your mobile device.

The Red Carpet Gala showcased several of Alberta’s leading filmmakers, including Adam Scorgie, Tito Guillen, Ben Babchishin, and Justin Brunelle. Congrats to the following AMPIA members who were honoured with top awards for their short films: Aaron Talbot for Plight: A Comic Book Rock Opera – Best Web Episode (Directed by Randy Brososky), Geraldine Carr for Voila – Best Dramatic Short Film and Doug Cook – Burning All the Past Away – Best Animation/Experimental.
